Story behind the song
I'm not sure what motivated me here, and I wasn't looking to write a song about a state. I was just looking for something different, so, I sat down at my computer and started composing.
Lyrics
GEORGIA GIRL (c) 2005 It was in the summer of '82 I remember it well We spent our days out on the beach Me and my southern belle We were young and so in love Didn't have a care in the world I fell head over heels for her My blue-eyed Georgia girl (ch) My Georgia girl my Georgia girl The sweetest thing in the whole wide world And nothing can ever tear us apart 'Cause we're joined together at the heart.. Me and my Georgia girl In just one word she turned me around I had no control at all And I realized she was the one for me I was prisoner to her beck and call She said she knew just what I meant 'Cause she felt the same way too And our life began that very day When love came shining through (bridge) I don't know how it happened this way But she's the only one I ever wanted to stay (ch)
