Hey! We're StrongHold. We're made up of two 17 year old guys from Bloomington, IL, - Alex Garner and Ryan Marquardt. We started StrongHold in March of 2004, but prior to that, we had wrote songs for a few years together, but never really did anything with them, because we were so young and just messed around with all that stuff for fun. We're recording our first CD at the moment, thanks to Alex's cousin, Mark Lockett, who was in the band The Normals (check them out! they're GREAT!!!). Story behind the song
This song was written for all of the kids that we met in Mexico. In March of 2004, we took a trip to Mexico, and both of us had a huge culture shock. As a result, we wanted to do something to help all these kids, and we decided to write a song for them. During this time on the mission trip, we thought of the lyrics and melodies/harmonies. But once we got back home, we forgot all about it. Then, in March of 2005, we went back to Mexico to see all of the kids again, and we decided to finish the song that we had started a year ago. A week later we were singing it at our church and recording it in the studio. We then got the idea to let all proceeds for our CD go to the kids that we met.
