This is a song different than most of my stuff. Definitely the start of a new direction for my music.
Just me, a teenage girl from California whose grown up listening to classic rock and loves to play guitar. But don't let that fool you...
Well, I'm just a teenage girl from California whose grown up listening to rock n' roll. I'm not really a "band," but I love playing guitar and occasionally belting out a few notes. Have a listen and drop by my messageboard to let me know what you think.

Story behind the song
I'd taken a break from semi-serious songwriting to take time to write some songs that were inspired by the harder times in my life; the times I haven't exactly taken time to deal with yet. After I got all the teenage angst and anger out, this song was born.
Lyrics
A Reason to Move On a down and out boy sits on the docks haunted by the past too many voices lingering in a mind of fragile glass he takes cold showers to erase the pain though relief, it never lasts happiness lies in another time he thinks will never come to pass (chorus) but he feels okay as he watches the ships sail away and he knows that the day has gotta end eventually so he stands up and pledges to the silent horizon that sooner or later he'll find himself a reason to move on he walks home slowly through the fog his hands deep in his pockets he passes a girl in a yellow dress accented by a heart-shaped locket he wonders if he could ever be the picture in that heart he regrets not asking her name cause that would have been a great place to start (chorus) but he feels okay as he watches the ships sail away and he knows that the day has gotta end eventually so he stands up and pledges to the silent horizon that sooner or later he'll find himself a reason to move on (bridge) that was years ago and now his life's become so changed thanks to the girl in the yellow dress of who he finally asked her name (chorus, slightly altered) he feels more than okay on the deck of the ships that sail away and he's thankful that those days ended eventually he stands up to thank the shining horizon for pointing him in the direction of a reason to move on
