We're a 6 piece Ska/Punk band from Adelaide. The Son Of Dad story starts about 3 years ago. Rick, Gareth and Matt were fed up of working 44 hours a week at their local Tyrepower, and figured that the easiest way to make loads of quick cash in Adelaide would simply be to form a ska band, but to get it off the ground, they needed a guitar player. Conveniently our prayers were answered (no pun intended) when a then Jahova's witness Dan showed up at Rick's front door, and was promptly dragged inside, stripped naked, and brainwashed into playing guitar in the band. So far Dan has worked out fine. After almost a dozen practices over a 2 and a half year period, Gareth made the accurate observation one day that he was in fact the only horn player, and that he didn't think he's ever be able to grow a proper moustache. None of us were very concerned with his unimpressive facial-hair, but he raised a good point about the lack of horn players. After a quick trip to the local Fish 'n' Chip emporium, they found Craig and Justin lying half-asleep in a dumpster, literally begging to exchange their only possessions, a saxophone and trumpet, for the rest of our cold chips and gravy. "I've got an idea!" Matt cried, and after stealing $4.85 in change from the local malfunctioning payphone, asked the two homeless gentleman if they'd like to join their money-making crusade, and/or change their clothes. Craig was keen, but Justin just wasn't sure. Several heavy sack-beatings later, he came around. And so now here they are, after setting the Grace Emily hotel ablaze (literally) "Son Of Dad" are finally ready to play instruments in front of people for money. Oh and to have fun, or something.
