Story behind the song
I was at Sunday School during my college years and saw a poster with Ps. 86:11-12:
Teach me Thy way, oh, Lord. I will walk in Thy truth
Unite my heart to fear Thy Name
And I will praise Thee, O Lord my God, with all my heart
I will glorify Thy Name forevermore
It touched me deeply. After church, I went to my dorm room, pulled out my Bible and guitar, and sat and wrote this using portions of Psalm 86. I purposely kept the lyric in the language of the KJV because it is so beautiful.
