Good day to you. My name is Huw, but on the interweb my alias is Schubert, or Schu. Sometimes even Monsieur le Schu. (Yes, I do know that Franz Schubert was a composer in the Romantic period, but I can't be bothered to explain how I got such a nickname.) Now for a little bit about me. First and foremost, I love music. Unconditionally. My dream is to have the time to devote my life to making and appreciating music. In other words, music rocks my socks. My favourite bands/artists are , , and to name but a few. I play bass. Bass is good. If you've heard me play, you'll probably guess that of the Red Hot Chili Peppers is one of my biggest influences. And you'd probably be right. I try to take influence from elsewhere though, in order to stop being a Flea rip-off. I've been playing bass since Christmas 2000 (you work out how long that is, I can't be arsed, hehehe) and I've also been playing piano since the age of seven. But bass is my it seems. You may or may not know that I play bass in a band, called . We've been going since some time in 2002. We're a bunch of friends who love the same music really. So we write songs. Songs are good. Check out our . Maybe you'd like to listen to a few of our songs. Did I say songs are good? Let's have a little bit more info on me. I am currently attending sixth form college. Right now I am panicking about my coursework and my exams. Exams are not good. This page is basically for random bits of music I record when I'm bored... or recordings of my music/music technology coursework. Enjoy.

Story behind the song
This song is one of my AS Level Music compositions. Most of it is in an unusual time signature (7/8) and it covers some quite eclectic influences. The recording quality isn't brilliant, as it's just my piano recorded with a computer microphone. And my piano has a squeaky pedal, which ruins it a bit. Whoops.
