"Graphs and tables can hardly relate the acutely personal story of a child in a remote valley, his horizon of opportunity limited to the enclosing hills..."FDR Jr. on his 1964 study of Appalachia
Growing up we were unable to identify with the canned commercial music being force fed to us through cable/sattelite tv and high powered urban Fm stations pumped out from cities many miles away.Faced with the prospect of growing up to be line dancing rednecks or wannabe peckerwood gangstas, our only relief was to hook up a long piece of wire to our boom box anttenaes and stay up late nights so we could discover strange new music on a distant college stations(wicb91.7fm,wvbr 93.5Fm),something we could call our own, there was punk rock, ska, and all different kinds of metal(not the stuff your T'bird driving, mullet sporting, uncle listened to)and other strange music words cannot explain. We'd record the entire show on cassette tapes to play in our walkmans on the hour long bus ride to school. From these staticky bits we found our identity and inspiration, the sound that would become Clutter.-UPDATE!DUE TO A CANADIAN BAND HAVING THE SAME NAME WE MUST RENAME.WE ARE NOW RANZATSU,or CLUTTER IN JAPANESE.
