Story behind the song
"This song is featured on the Catch It If You Can EP and was birthed from an insanely loud jam with Bart Brickfoot and Eric Bassman on a dark and stormy night. We were all wet, tired, and hungry but once this ray of hope kicked in, we pounced on it and played it for 3 hours straight. The words came using surrealist writing techniques and are in praise of all the mysterious waifish girls who have crossed my path and left their imprints on my soul... girls I was too shy to express my admiration to but whose time I cherished- and still do...'We're shy that's why we hide behind our guitars in a rocknroll band- Catch it if you can!'. Not quite happy, but certainly not sad- More like a sense of yearning, and that's enough." - Mark Jumblie
Lyrics
Lost inside your head Something that I thought you said Days gone by made you cry I wonder 'bout the life you led But wherever you may roam I know you'll always find a home The time you find and leave behind Is only ever there on loan Catch it if you can And when you walk into the room You know you're gonna make them swoon Come and stay on holiday If only for an hour or two Never gonna show my hand You're never gonna understand We're shy That's why we hide behind Our guitars in a RockNRoll band Catch it if you can I'm going downtown... Baby when you left me Don't you know you almost wrecked me?
