Story behind the song
This was composed for a video project for Orange Hill Baptist Church here in Georgia - Andy Mills, aked me for some music to go with the DVD he was editing and I was happy to oblige. I suppose I must note that I am not a religious man, or at the very least, very wary of religious groups. But the search for spirituality I understand and respect very much, as long as it doesn't interfere with others' search and studies. That being said, the idea for "Prayers Under Snow-Heavy Pines" was in my head before Andy asked me for some musical ideas... like most of these songs, I liked the phrase/idea/image/concept, and then I tred to put music where those things were in my head.
