Story behind the song
Jaron Eldon: I got the idea for the pot from Bass Communion's, "Orphan Coal" (brilliant), and Radiohead's, "Packt Like Sardines in a Crushd Tin Box". I recorded the pot banging and sent it to Pete, and what I got back was nearly an entire song. I got the name of the song from a sign on a hotel door during a vacation in San Luis Obispo, at which time I was listening to Bass Communion intensely. Pete Nigel: This is my moment in the spot light really. It was Jaron's idea for the pot banging, and he just recorded himself randomly banging on a pot, with no tempo. So he sent it to me and told me to do something with it, and I did. there are two layers of pot banging, one lasts one measure, the other lasts two, and then they are looped. I did all the other stuff: the bass drums, the bass itself, the weird drummy noise. Jaron did the piano, and Gavin did the creepy sound effect. Gavin Stewart: This is Pete in all his glory, all I did was the weird sound effect noise.
