Former Elektra/Asylum solo artist James Sinclair has left a two decade trail of sophisticated pop music in his wake. The singer/songwriter degreed at the New England Conservatory of Music before embarking on a career that included major label deals, L.A. session gigs and tons of studio production. This is James' first album since the Elektra days and is a true labor of love. Self-produced over a three year period and featuring some of L.A.'s finest sidemen, you'll hear a rare level of maturity that relates to the music of Steely Dan, Sting and Al Jarreau. If you appreciate jazz influences, classic rock and great vocals, this one's for you!

Lyrics
Fell in love and lived it She was like a cool sea breeze That rocked me like an ocean Till she cut me at the knees Felt like I was driftin’, drownin’ Lost and presumed deceased But when I awoke I knew I was shipwrecked And that my soul had been released Well, I gathered up some driftwood And I built myself a shack Lashed it tight together To withstand a shark attack Don’t want any new love, blue love Can wait ‘till I tame this beast I’m getting’ happy bein’ shipwrecked ‘Cause my soul has been released Get my feet on the ground Get the lay of the sand Got my own private beach Stick my head in the sand What a plan… I’m walkin’ the shore with the sun on my face Got no reason to leave gonna stay in this place… I dreamt they saw my signal fire Passage back to my hometown They made me out to be a hero How I survived and got around The heat of the spotlight They money, the book rights Losin’ my breath like I’m getting squeezed But when I awoke and I was still shipwrecked I knew my soul had been released
