The name is a little misleading. Not a huge amount of disco action here.

Alternative Rock from the South Coast of the UK
Metapop consists of Jenny Gibbons, vocals, began singing publicly at the age of 8, and grew up listening to predominantly folk and classical music, before being introduced to the world of rock! Her main influences include Jeff Buckley, Lamb, Show of Hands, Placebo, Peter Gabriel, Skunk Anansie among many others. Jamie Neasom, Guitarist and Classical Pianist names among his top influences My Bloody Valentine, Radiohead, Explosions In The Sky and Miles Davis. Rob Hollamby on Bass is mainly influenced by Idlewild and Snow Patrol while Drummer, (and occasional brass player) Simon is a lover of Funeral For a Friend, Biffy Clyro and Billy Talent. However, the influence of Muse is evident in every area of the band so it is not surprisingly that this is generally picked up on! The band are from the Southampton/Winchester area.
