Singer/ songwriter
Lawrence Bullock is a singer songwriter living in Mendocino, CA I'm often asked who I sound like, what kind of music do I play. Well, I listen to a lot of things. In Ireland they say I sound like Christie Moore, Bob Dylan (which surprises the hell out of me), Van Morrison (again, surprised) and I've even gotten Jim Croce on occasion. But you know, I'm thinking of chucking it all and banging on rocks til I reach a state where the atoms split apart and I realize that life's the first skip of the stone God throws across the Universe pond. I just write what comes into my head. I never think about writing a "hit" tune. I know the formula for writing a "hit" tune, it just never occurs to me to write one. The music biz these days is so corporatized, that what I write seems quaint and out of date. Oh well, I can only write what I write.

Lyrics
I am stuck in the middle of a riddle with a blue bottle fly I can’t see past the edges of the muddle and the subtle lie I am gutted like a fish for the grilling in the frying pan with grease I’m sitting tall in the saddle, roping cattle, fighting battle fatigue You put the bag over the head Take a picture of the dead I guess we’ve lost our hearts and our minds The hell with Geneva And you bet we’re gonna leave a little piece of America behind Well it stinks like a baby left too long without a diaper change I’m praying every day I can stay out of sniper range My buddy’s got a hole where his conscience used to be But I don’t judge him, cause man, he thinks a lot like me You put the bag over the head Take a picture of the dead I guess we’ve lost our hearts and our minds The hell with Geneva And you bet we’re gonna leave a little piece of America behind My father was in ‘Nam, but this isn’t like it one little bit Well, that’s what they say, but I think that they’re full of it And now they’re escalating, saying look at the progress we’ve made Well you can pee in a jar, but I wouldn’t call it lemonade You put the bag over the head Take a picture of the dead I guess we’ve lost our hearts and our minds The hell with Geneva And you bet we’re gonna leave a little piece of America behind
