Mystery Of Misery : Written & Performed by S. De Bolster & Koncept. Produced by Heritage Productions & Mixed by S. De Bolster. © 2002 - Poetic Flow/ Koncept/ Heritage Productions. Hook: It’s a mystery of misery ~ Life’s a backstabbing friend that ends as your enemy/ Life betrays ~ we all end up the same way/ So how can anything be meant to be… we all get played. Poetic Flow: You got to watch your back ~ never letting down your guard ~ it’s like life dealt you the wrong card ~ laying here afraid with a gun as your bodyguard/ Trying to make it through these times but shit is hard ~ a continuous cycle filled with real life struggles ~ toying with your emotions and juggle ~ it’s like your life is an illegal substance you’re trying to smuggle/ You got to snuggle closer to the ones you love ~ Cursing the one from up above ~ or the lack thereof/ Religion turned sour ~ both good and evil devour his higher power ~ but how could God exist when we destroy ourselves in less than an hour/ My best friend got hit by a bullet that punctured thru his-spinal-cord ~ rocking his body back-and-forth, shattering his dreams ~ forever putting him on-life-support/ Gangs commit drive by’s like it’s a sport ~ a continuous fight never to abort ~ innocent children getting shot ~ bullet shells burying themselves in their dome ~ making the brain sizzle like foam ~ shattering a perfectly happy home/ Sending your kids to school to get educated ~ but they coming home with the cops for being gang related ~ the school system is deflated/ Ignorant men watching the earth disintegrate, to selfish to reintegrate ~ walking around with eye-covers so the misery of the world won’t penetrate/ Walking the earth with the wrong mentality ~ taking everything for granted ~ living is just a minor technicality ~ only caring about their own identity/ Racism still separating the human race in different sections, I’m writing down these reflections while I’m standing at the worlds intersection/ And I’m hoping that one day we’ll choose the right direction ~ but you know ~ misery loves company ~ it never comes alone/
