Singer/ songwriter
Lawrence Bullock is a singer songwriter living in Mendocino, CA I'm often asked who I sound like, what kind of music do I play. Well, I listen to a lot of things. In Ireland they say I sound like Christie Moore, Bob Dylan (which surprises the hell out of me), Van Morrison (again, surprised) and I've even gotten Jim Croce on occasion. But you know, I'm thinking of chucking it all and banging on rocks til I reach a state where the atoms split apart and I realize that life's the first skip of the stone God throws across the Universe pond. I just write what comes into my head. I never think about writing a "hit" tune. I know the formula for writing a "hit" tune, it just never occurs to me to write one. The music biz these days is so corporatized, that what I write seems quaint and out of date. Oh well, I can only write what I write.

Lyrics
There’s a broken mirror on the floor There I am in shards And any one could tell you more than a thousand Tarot cards Pretty witty don’t you think? All our small reflections Go down better with a drink and objects of affection CHORUS All these cutting words and clever things to say I’m so sick of myself today Cast out from some paradise Falling out of grace So many things to memorize My memory’s like lace Hey everyone, I’m Frankenstein Relaxing on the porch Why don’t you all drop by sometime? And don’t forget your torch CHORUS All these cutting words and clever things to say I’m so sick of myself today BRIDGE Chin up, chest out, places please Try not to forget to breathe Wrapped up with a pretty bow Innocent and tame There’s a bomb inside you know And it’s got your name One step from the precipice A heartbeat from the grave The beauty of the narcissist God’s always there to save CHORUS All these cutting words and clever things to say I’m so sick of myself today
