Lyrics
Hard work is something I will never understand/
I will never admit that I never had a plan/
but had I had a plan I would have said I didn't, thats the way I am/
I can't say where the inhibitions went but I can say they ran/
and standing still I spin at this incentive that I'm taking in/
Finally, I look out the window for inspiration/
With golden fields to the open skies I cope and sigh/
And hope that I am showing [some] signs of open eyes/
I don't have many friends here, it's a small town/
where people drown in whatever they do, and drive around/
And day to day I drag my way out of the hay into the car/
And feed some hay to those who neigh so I can say I did my part/
Then I drive back to my shack laughing with the sun in my back/
Thinking of love you may ask how long can love like this last/
No matter what questions come into question, never pick apart love/
when you’re dissecting anything it dies, and then what?/!!
Display the dead love with a red pin on a hat rack
And look back at it frowning and say that you use to have that
[Sure] intelligence is relevant when staring at a science test/
But not so relevant when you’re too bent up with applying it/
Just realize that some things are too good to overanalyze/
the apple pie of this is we all need to get a handle guys/
If you stand and guide a persons mind to where she loves you/!
follow her and you will find a place that you will love, too/
{{Dark or day, when you can say doubt is around you/!!
Just park and stay in the love that surrounds you/ }}}
Sunshine wakes me up and helps me get out of bed/
and if I'm early I get up and help her get up instead/
mumble and stumble to the kitchen thinking of bacon and toast/!!
what takes my breath away most is she's making me both!/
and By the time breakfast is ate, an urge usually creeps/
and we go back into the bedroom but it isn't to sleep/
and then we creep out weary eyed into the world above/
drive out of town ten minutes to both of our work and our love/!!
Get out of the car say hi to the dogs and water horses/!
We drive back to a house that's quickly becoming my home since/
I rinsed my hands of Saskatoon and found a room in Rabbit Lake/
and though at times eat ketchup chips and read Archie for habits sake/
I’m glad to say I’ve found a way to stand and face my other flaws/
A leopard cannot change his spots but he can sharpen up his claws/
I don’t eat at Burger King and despise the thought of Wendy’s Fries/
If I want fries I go to Dane who makes them for a better price/!
At the Rabbit Lake Tea Room you can really eat/!
It’s really neat, seeing people who work their feet/
Into the ground into the bone and never use a telephone/
Sitting around a smoking zone and chuckling in rustic tones/
I never stop to say hello but get a glance and a nod/
And give one in return before I turn and laugh on the spot/
Cus I chat wit their wives and their kids outside enjoy my magic tricks/
And laugh when I screw up on one and take another stab at it/
But usually we eat in at a table for two/
But if you’re coming over we’ll shell out a meal for you/
Go to the bar, sit on a stool with a beer and rack the pool table/!
Sit on the monkey bars and puff on joints beside the school later/!
[[Sinking or swimming I’m slippin and tippin and feelin The mission of mine/
is skipping and fishing or ripping a rhyme and flipping decisions Of simple designs/
and writin inviting exciting decisive lines to rip in spite of a costume
I’m right here, but I sped up in the case I might have lost you]]]
Anyways-
It’s quite alright to do, the school is now closed down/
Nothing but old people and us live in this ghost town/
I like the view wherever I go, it’s quite pretty/
And now I know that life is not anything like the city/
I’m more curious, and I take myself less serious/
Less weary when I get home from my work, no question period/
It’s part of me, changing, I’m starting to work harder,
