I love writing songs about life, love and personal experiences as well as observing other's experiences. I love all good music, but I am a country boy at heart.
I write songs that tell a story, and I have lived long enough to have witnessed a lot of stories both good and bad. I like all good music. I write because I just enjoy it.

Story behind the song
This is a true story of a friend of mine who died under very mysterious circumstances many years ago. I have a theory he was murdered and cremated to hide any evidence. I spoke to the detective who seemed like he was happy to quickly call it a normal death because my friend had health problems. I don't thing he or his underlings had time to investigate, as he was cremated soon after he died. I know there had been threats on his life the day before. I was basically stonewalled when I tried to find out anything.
Lyrics
It's a story of a man I used to know Just a big old country boy who I miss so Donnie Walton was his name, good friends we soon became Why he left us Lord I guess I'll never know All his life he was picked on by the folks 300 pounds of man he took their jokes But inside his heart was sad, though he never did get mad It wasn't in him, his old heart was full of holes Chorus: Oh Donnie how I wish you were still here Though I know beside your father you are near And I wonder how you died, far away your body lied All alone far from home, Lord something's wrong Now you're gone and we're still here In my heart you were murdered now I fear I remember the last time when you called I could sense something bad had gone wrong But you told me you were fine, good old Buddy friend of mine Nothing right has added up since you've been gone Chorus: Oh Donnie how I wish you were still here Though I know beside your father you are near And I wonder how you died, far away your body lied All alone far from home, Lord something's wrong Now you're gone and we're still here In my heart you were murdered now I fear Oh dear Lord, he was murdered now I fear
