Ray Staar has been "in the business" since landing a job doing lights at the legendary Whisky-a-Go-Go on the Sunset Strip in 1966. He traveled extensively with the crew of The Association throughout the late '60's, ran nightclubs and produced radio and TV commercials throughout much of the '70's and '80's. Ray has written songs solo and collaborated with the likes of David Frieberg (Quicksilver Messenger Service, Jefferson Starship), Terry Kirkman (the Association), John Blakeley (the Sandals) and Grammy winning producer/writer Rick Nowels. He lives in San Francisco with his wife, family and a menagerie of pets.
