Story behind the song
100 years ago the Earth was invaded by UFO's. They landed in the rural village of Padham, a small community of thatched houses, a church and a small public house in Norfolk UK. Geoffrey Collins was out walking his dog Bo on the heathland. He witnessed 2 space ships land & was the first on the scene, luckily he had his original pistol with him from his days as a Colonel in World War 1. He opened fire at the space ships as the doors began opening. A few men from the village arrived in their motor cars & ran over to him carrying their own assault weapons which included a Tommy gun and various pistols. The aliens didn't know what hit them as they opened the space ship doors & fired back at the group of men. Soon the 2 UFOs were surrounded & it was clear who was going to win the 1922 Battle For Planet Earth. The aliens retreated back into their space ships & as quickly as they had landed took off into the night sky. No UFO's were ever seen again in Padham & no one ever talks about the night Earth was invaded from outer space. (A FICTIONAL STORY BY CLIVE G BERESFORD - ALL RIGHTS RESERVED).
