A song about the motivations of a suicide bomber.

Artist picture
A solo punk band with songs ranging from politics to social issues to evolutionary biology.
Lacking any real musical talent, I decided to use Punk-o-Matic to create some generic punk backgrounds to the various songs I had written. Recorded at low quality through a computer microphone, the songs are not musical masterpieces but the lyrics are still strong. Give it a listen, you might enjoy it.

Lyrics
Life, what is it worth when you’re starving and have a family to support? Death, does not seem so bad considering what’s waiting at the other end. Years have we fought a common enemy, Despised and defamed perpetually, No recollections of the start of the war, But we know what we’re fighting for, Ancient doctrines provide us with the source For killing infidels without signs of remorse, Our leaders speak with fire, they speak with zeal, But when the fighting comes, they are always concealed, We are the puppets and they are our masters, Chanting in unison behind these twisted pastors, They say I should give my life for the greater cause, And salvation is promised through religious laws, They’ve made my decision, there’s no turning back, A martyr am I, quite the ominous fact, Strap the bomb to my chest, I’ll do my duty, Give my regards to my starving family, O, what a glorious day this will become, They remind me that our enemies will succumb, In front of a camera I read a document, Mouth moving, not knowing what I meant, Hey wait a minute, I’m having second thoughts, How will this help the battle that we’ve fought? But it’s too late, I’ve reached my target, A bus full of civilian non-combatants, My heart is pounding, what can I do? They see me! I must follow through! Life, who are we to judge who can live and who must die? Death, so sudden and so final, how can men be trusted with dealing it? There was no time to think, it happened so fast, Women, children, all caught in the blast, Horrible screams of innocent infants, The end is nigh, sinners repent! Life, so precious and so fragile, what twisted knaves take it from others? Death, no virgins, no hands of god, no fields of paradise, only death.
