A powerful Pop/Rock song from the album, 'On The Way Up', by The Lazarus Ladders. (my imaginary, late 1960s Post Psychedelic Pop/Rock group). 1968 was a year of great change. Revolution was in the air.

Major Snagg is the invented name of the 'band' that perform all my own musical creations. (songs and instrumentals). I play guitars, bass, rudimentary keyboards, harmonica, and sing. Melody has always been important to me... lyrics and guitar solos have to say or communicate something. I create musical worlds that I hope that you dear listener, will also want to explore and live in for a few moments...or longer if you feel that way inclined.

Story behind the song
The Lazarus Ladders, were finding their feet on this, 'call to arms/protest song'. They were in-tune with the zeitgeist of the time...how could you not be ... as a prominent group caught up in those unfolding events!
Lyrics
Little Miracles (David A Briggs) The Lazarus Ladders Burn your bridges, join the masses, feed the fire and watch the flames... Hit the high notes, boost the low notes, storm clouds gather, break those chains... Little miracles on every corner, nothing ventured, is nothing gained, we're looking at a dark blue future, I'm on a rocket to a world without rain... It's a blue bungaloid dystopia, down a cul-de-sac of pain. we're clocking-on but is this living? same old, same old, yet again. Cool rebellion on my radio, slogans painted on the wall. We are righteous, we have power you must heed the clarion's call... Light a candle on every corner, say a prayer for the people you meet, we're looking at a dark grey future, I'm looking at those marching feet... Like a beacon in the darkness, your presence lights up the room, take a ride on my magic carpet, I'll be leaving here sometime soon. guitar solo: Cool rebellion your presence lights up the room take a ride on my magic carpet, I'll be leaving here sometime soon... Cool rebellion on my radio, slogans painted on the wall. we are righteous, we have power, you must heed the clarion's call. Little miracles on every corner, nothing ventured, nothing gained we're looking at a dark blue future, I'm on a rocket to a world without rain... Your presence lights up the room. Take a ride on my magic carpet, I'll be leaving here sometime soon...

I can just picture the video for this on TOTP - psychedelic colour shifting effects and all. Wonderful stuff. Great tone on the solo too!

Alright, guess we'll have to won't we. Okay mate, we'll have at it, but it'll probably sound a bit different... not as much as had Sue done it... but you know the boys, we'll go Mr Whippy with it

Really like this!! Fantastic job on the lyrics, the vibe is perfect and the guitar work is stunning - love the tone & smoothness you get with your playing. I like the retro elements, but this song is timeless, it also belongs to the here and now.
