Major Snagg is the invented name of the 'band' that perform all my own musical creations. (songs and instrumentals). I play guitars, bass, rudimentary keyboards, harmonica, and sing. Melody has always been important to me... lyrics and guitar solos have to say or communicate something. I create musical worlds that I hope that you dear listener, will also want to explore and live in for a few moments...or longer if you feel that way inclined.

Story behind the song
I used to watch this TV programme when I was a child...narrated by the wonderful Johnnie Morris. I've always liked the theme tune which was played on classical guitar by the legendary Julian Bream. This is obviously not like the original at all, but it's my 'interpretation', with added parts by myself, where I can't remember how it went. This is two guitars (lots of takes!) with a little country atmosphere added to give it an 'outdoor' kind of sound. I played it on a Yamaha APX-4A acoustic guitar recorded 'live' into my Zoom R-24 recorder. I then 'mastered' it on Adobe Audition (1.5)..

Oh I remember Johnny Morris, an essential part of my childhood along with Mr Pastry, Charlie Drake, Norman Wisdom and others . . .

Brilliant!! I used to watch Tales of the Riverbank too!!! Those were the days...such a gentle, calming programme. Wouldn't it be great to go back to that little world again? Really great playing, lovely expression and tone. Excellent stuff.

So bright and airy. Felt just a glimpse of blackbird. Love the ending. Thanks David.

A real change of sound from my usual efforts. Something, calm, quiet and relaxing
