When I was a kid, a day felt like a week does now. A song with a negative slant, but with a positive message. Time flies...better get it done now!
contemporary southern chr
Songwriter of Contemporary Christian and Southern Gospel music.
I write and sing Christian music. I grew up in a country church in southern Oklahoma where the people loved to sing and praise God. I wrote the song, "Tiny Church House" in the early 80's as a result from the strong Christian influence I received from my parents and church as I was growing up on a dairy farm. I love to write Christian music. I sing many of my songs in Church but have never really tried to get them published/produced. I produced an album in the early 80's entitled "Except The Lord Build The House" and used the background music during revivals that I sung at. My desire is to continue writing music. I would love to have my music sung by individuals or groups that are dedicated to spreading God's love through music. I have no desire to perform! My music may be hard to classify into a single Christian genre. Much of it is Southern Gospel but some is more contemporary. In many cases, the production would determine its genre. I will place songs from my 80's album on the site and well as some of the more recent music I have written. I am not a "band". My music is produced very simply with computer software. I welcome any and all comments. I hope you enjoy the music and find Jesus in its content. Cary Fox (SongFox)

Lyrics
When I was a young man it was the morning of the day. And life lay out before me like the curtains of a play. Every scene a new adventure; every line a song. The promise of the day seemed Oh so long. I heard your voice so clearly as it whispered in the wind, Calling out my name, Oh want you let me be your friend. The tender voice of Jesus semmed to plead and seemed to say, Trust in me you'll find I know the way. CHORUS But I said, Go Away, No more tappin' on my shoulder. I said, Go Away, I'll call on you when I'm older. Maybe at a slow time, maybe later in the day; Why don't you let me be, Just Go Away. Youthful dreams all faded and the morning turned to noon. Life was more confusing and I sometimes lost the tune. Daytime slowly faded as the brighness turned to gray. I wondered what had happened to the day. I heard your invitiation, but less clearly than before. I knew you must be calling but the wind was now a roar. Failure and confusion had convinced me of my need. But I was in a hurry to succeed. CHORUS BRIDGE Something happened to the morning, Something happened to the play. If I could only hear you calling, I would anser you today. CHORUS
