Story behind the song
On 09-20-2008, I penned a few words and cords. Every now and then, I would run across them and would try to come up with more. Well,...
Well, finally some lyrics started flowing in and I found cords to go with them. After I wrote the words and cords down, I dated it and looked at the original song page to discover that I had written those first lyrics and cords on 09-20-2008; and, then, I realized today's date was 09-20-2017.
And, back in 2008, I titled the song as, Fisherman's Wives... Part of the new lyrics I wrote was "This September's rain is coming down...cold to my skin...chills me to the bone"
Why did those few words hold so much emotion for me?
The first several times I sang those certain lyrics, I would start to cry; it took me several times of playing it before my emotions lowered to the point that I could sing without crying. Anyway, I had to title it, This September's Rain
