Story behind the song
lyrics: I watched an episode of Star Trek: TNG where a Klingon instructed someone to leave a number of bodies behind while recovering from an accident, because they were "empty shells". that idea became the start for the song, but the rest of it became an escape fantasy having nothing to do with sci-fi.
music: coming up with the main riff for this song was one of our first "woah" moments, and the song became our signature piece. we would usually close our set with this one, and the title became prophetic because I would usually stage dive after singing the last line and float on the crowd.
