I was on the 7 train coming home from Flushing, thinking about a ruler when I wrote this. Spontaneously, I pulled out a pen and what resulted was this mathematical wordplay that serves as a critique of the American political system.

Lyrics
Individually speaking I have no qualms about writing with a pen so succinct and refined that you can measure to the thousandth my metric analysis fo the precise nature by which capitalism commodifies my culture down to the cent and exploits working folk by the multisecond and drains the soul out of the aspiring artist down to the last portion of his dying breath. Can you fathom the degree by which my pen draws arcs tracing skipping stone paths as they make 180 degree leaps up the ladder of social hierarchy as they (re)define their lives on the 360 degree circle sweep of time's hands fully mechanized souls that "tick" to the corporate leader's "tock" as yet another factory relocates 90 degrees below the equator like the corporation's name was Mr. Displacement. Or should I just call you gentrification? As another 4.0 million Chinese workers witness their American Dreams crumble when downt o the very last piece of brick that once supported the foundation of affordable housing will cost 6 billion tax paid dollars to renovate a thriving slum for a corporate hegemony that wishes to revolve and spiral down to the grassroots soul for a projected 50 billion dollar tax revenue criss-crossed in perpendicular 90 degree x-marks on a contract followed by generic signature of 1 of 6 billion whores to capitalism as I slash this pen through another bill to circumvent due process as if my civil liberties were just a statistic that only mattered if I were the one counting the vote for supreme court awaring 4 years of another 10,000 innocent Iraqis droped dead by teh 228 year old Americanpolitical machine that sustained imperialistic bloodshed for antoehr 2 weeks, or 14 days, down to the 336 hours, 20160 minutes, 1209600 seconds. But we are not counting Holocaust victims here. But it's hard not to maek the comparison because individually speaking. My only regret is that I have not the heart to perfect putting down my thoughts as precisel as I can coutn decapitated heads, national deficit and foreign debt, and the very second that I drop this line and proclaim American capitalism dead.
