"Baby, I feel 50 years older, since they put this gun in my hands..."
singer-songwriter who records at home, where ever that may be. I have an arsenal of 500 songs or so, some of which I hope you will be hearing..Would love to hear
Story behind the song
The first Gulf War and unfortunately, this song has proved to be pretty timeless.....I`ve put it out here, in homage to one of my Heroes, Muhammad Ali, who had the courage to say NO....His courage was instrumental in ending the draft and that stupid ass war that 3 or 4 Presidents did not have the guts to end....Need I say more?
Lyrics
Well, the rain....will surely fall, Even here in this arid land.... And the wind, it sure does blow.... Probably bury us here where we stand. I don`t want to be a soldier, Wish they`d take this gun from my hand... Wish they`d take this weight off my shoulders, It`s got me sinking in the Desert Sand... Well, the nights....sure seem long, How come I get no letters from you... And the life, that we had back home, Did it just vanish into the blue? Baby, I feel fifty years older, Since they put this gun in my hand.... Guess I`ll send off a letter to Boulder, And fill it full of Desert Sand. They took away our dreams.... Took our lives right out of our hands.... And than they dug a hole, to keep `em in... And filled it up with Desert Sand.... Baby, when this is all over, I`m gonna wash this blood from my hands... I`m gonna slip this weight off my shoulders, And leave it buried, in the Desert Sand.....
