Story behind the song
This wasn't intended to be a song, and it was this track that pushed me over the edge to record a new album with me attempting to sing for the first time ever. This track was extracted from a 45 min jam session with Jerome playing a simple rhythm, and myself playing drums. A year later I played it back and the song wrote itself in record time. I kept the original even though it didn't sound so great, and layered on the other instruments. I then called Jerome up and had him come in and add a few more guitar tracks.
Lyrics
What You Can Save Written by Sylent Mike Sylent- The Solo Project 2015 Somebody knows..... nobody shows.... And when you travel in a dream, There's no one there to help you scream. Somebody pushed you in your grave Who can defend you? There's none of us left to save All my fingers are turning blue I tried to hide my face Tried to hide the worlds disgrace. What ever happened to our strife What ever happened to our life? What ever happened to our neverland? Was it really never in demand? I can tell you every line Thats scrawled accross your face. I've seen that look before It's written accross the human race. You have to wonder What you can save! -----mid8 (lead) I can smell it in the wind Such a bitter taste. The clock ran out on me again Look at all the time we waste. We've all lost another friend You gave up with little grace And if I'm ever lost in you Slap me in my face! You have to wonder... just.. What.. you can save!
