A silent desperation
Spreading across the land
What are the stories today
Lost innocence along the way
Children among the shadows
No longer allowed to play
Who's looking to the stars
Taking in their beauty
Open to the possibilities
Rather than the duties
Keeping all as prisoners
Serving only the masters
Hidden away in their fortresses
Safe from all disasters
And so it ends
Another day in the life
The truth will be revealed
