Story behind the song
Gerry Morgan is not only a good friend of mine, he's an inventor (and if we were able to raise the funds, would've been the first tablet in this world...sad story), an educator who has won several awards, and now a proud owner of an International School in Koh Lanta, Thailand. The school will have an Alberta curriculum as well as a Thai curriculum. Some of you may know that I helped found another International School in Bangkok called the British Columbia International School of Bangkok.
Anyway, Gerry sent me his lyric (btw, he also writes poetry) some months ago based on a classical piece (forget whether it was Beethoven or Bach), I then said I would write a song for his school.
Soon a song appeared. And I sent it to Tommy Hellsten, and he sought Al (Firecircle2) to arrange, produce, sing, etc. So, here is the version that Al sent me. There is another version that I sang, but I think, for this post, we should display Al's hard work! I did nothing...merely wrote the piece. He scored it (for the piano), did the backing, sang, etc. Tommy did the mix!
