Lyrics
She’s an only child, born to the poorest of folks/
She wore second hand clothing, always the butt of a joke//
The people point and laugh, so she could never fit in/
But she held herself high, cause she was never quitting//
In desperate need of money, she’s just constantly working/
Hoping in her mind, that she wouldn’t be hurting//
With any guy she’s flirting, but they’re all cheap and shoddy/
It’s truly a shame, how she’s gotta sell her body//
They treated her like shit, she was beaten and bruised/
She made the wrong moves, so sweet yet confused//
She had so many paths, yet she chose prostitution/
Reasoning falsely, it was her only solution//
She needed money fast, and she needed much of it/
Thinking property was something that she’d covet//
But soon when she learned, it was already too late/
She was only seventeen, a child she did create//
[A social outcast, yet lovely in many ways/
It was hard to survive, but she carried her own weight//
She was the vision of hope, only slightly gone astray/
Now she lives in pain, hoping for better days//] 2x
She’s such a young girl, not even fit for this yet/
But she was so determined, to express her dissent//
She had to prove herself, and all of her actions/
Sadly, all she was left with were mere fractions//
Of food, water, money, clothes, and shelter/
So the burden of youth was starting to welt her//
She had to quit school, for a full time job/
All her stresses together were making her mind throb//
But she found new meaning, since she was living for two/
And that was all that mattered, enough to get her through//
So she bore the pain, anticipating the birth/
She had to have this baby for all she was worth//
It could happen any moment, but she was never alone/
The baby was with her, when she began to moan//
She had hoped all along, the birth would be painless/
But something went wrong, she was full of anguish//
[A social outcast, yet lovely in many ways/
It was hard to survive, but she carried her own weight//
She was the vision of hope, only slightly gone astray/
Now she lives in pain, hoping for better days//] 2x
As she was laying on the ground giving birth to the baby/
She almost passed out, everything turned hazy//
Her life passed before her, in the stint of a moment/
While the baby came out, since she could no longer hold it//
The baby was born, finally she was a mother/
The ending of a life, and the start of another//
See while giving birth, this young girl had died/
Seeing a glimpse of the baby, right through her eyes//
So she passed away happily, with her life fulfilled/
A baby girl was born, while her mother was killed//
A few hours later, the baby girl was found/
She would continue living, safe and sound//
So the moral of this story is, enjoy life as it is/
Its survival of the strong, survival of the fittest//
Forget material wealth, since in the end its nothing/
And if you have nothing, make something from nothing//
[A social outcast, yet lovely in many ways/
It was hard to survive, but she carried her own weight//
She was the vision of hope, only slightly gone astray/
Now she’s passed away, gone to a better place//] 2x
