Story behind the song
I watched this Czech movie today called "Closely Watched Trains." It's from the late 60's and it's really good. There's this bell sound in the movie that became that little two chord thing you hear in the song. I came up with a melody to throw over it and this is just what came out of it. I don't think I could really take this song further than the point that it's at right now. The title is from my favorite line in the film. The lyrics were originally going to be the rest of the line: "Raven flies, child flies, time flies, train flies, soldier flies, second flies, death flies, everything flies." I decided against it in the end.
