i realized this morning as i was walking to work
how lucky i am to be in a good job. 
things could be much much worse.
i could be starving to death in a third world country.
i could be pennyless, living day to day praying for a crumb of bread to be dropped at my feet.  
fortunately for me, i am able to pay my bills, to buy food, to drive around in my S U V.  
things aren't so bad.
maybe i work in an environment that lacks creativity.
perhaps i do spend much of my waking life generating 
status reports, developing next generation technologies 
that enable our clients to meet their business goals, fitting 
into the corporate profile of a successful business person.
but thats O K.
at least i have a job.
at least i have money for food.
at least i can afford to keep a roof over my head.
there are so many things that could be worse.
i'm going to start focusing on them.
it's time to enjoy life.
cherish the simple pleasures.
life only happens once.



sorry. but due to budget cutbacks we have to let you go. thanks for all your hard work. you've been a real team player.
