Here's a song that describes me...I hope! hahaha.
Stan loves music, is published (EMI/Capitol), and has experience performing on radio and TV when it was live in the good old days. These days he's just writing
Songwriter of pop, country, inspirational songs. I like to write. I travel a lot to Asia...so my music may have an Asian influence.
Story behind the song
This song originated as a lyric called Simply Me by Jeff Armstrong. Alas I have lost his contact info, and so I decided to rewrite the lyric and produced this piece.
Tommy Hellsten mixed it for me.

Intro: E Bm E Bm E Bm E
VERSE 1
E
When April meets May
B7 E
The blooms pamper me,
E
Hear children at play,
B7 E
With giggles and glee,
E7
Get absorbed in an e-book,
A
Thrilling till the end,
E
Breakfast in the warm nook,
B7 E
My spouse is my best friend.
CHORUS
E B7
I’m simple me,
E A
I’m just simple me,
E F#
Won’t chase the rainbow beyond the hills,
B7
I know it won’t be there for me.
E B7
I’m like a bird,
E A
Gliding round the world,
E C#m7
When the little things start to grow absurd,
B7 E
I turn back to simple me.
Instrumental E Bm E Bm E Bm E
VERSE 2
E
I wear my sons’ clothes,
B7 E
Can’t waste what they cast,
E
Have holes in loud coats,
B7 E
Old shirts took to task,
E7
I don’t like the F-word,
A
Don’t care if it’s cool,
E
Such words make my ears hurt,
B7 E
Don’t think that I’m a fool.
CHORUS
E B7
Just simple me,
E A
I’m just simple me,
E F#
Won’t chase the rainbow beyond the hills,
B7
I know it won’t be there for me.
E B7
I’m like a bird,
E A
Gliding round the world,
E C#m7
When the little things start to grow absurd,
B7 E Bm E Bm E Bm E
I turn back to simple me.
