Singer-songwriter, arranger and producer: acoustic contemporary folk but ranging into rock/blues/country/jazz/humour...all very eclectic, I'm afraid!
Martin Stirrup Singer/songwriter An old folkie who got back into it... These days I sing and play guitar(s) and other stringed instruments, then score and orchestrate where appropriate. My taste becomes increasingly eclectic ranging from finger-picked folk through country to soft rock mixed in with a few more alternative and eccentric numbers, including the odd novelty foxtrot...

Story behind the song
We were in Mrauk U, Myanmar for our 'Ruby Valentine'... and Sheila produced a card she'd been carrying around for a couple of weeks. I, needless to say, had suffered a foresight failure so I wrote her this song (in about 5 minutes) and sang it to her a cappella to make up for it... it was either that or singing ' My Old Dutch'. Happy anniversary to my beautiful wife of 40 years (on 10th june 2012). Recorded at Chateau Shardeloes with thanks to Jon Garvey in Devon for the brass. Youtube clip at : http://youtu.be/BqyV2f0xoOc
