Story behind the song
Written in commemoration and appreciation of my rather large extended family, on the last and final reunion held at my father's acreage. (as in pic)
Second verse (She was brown of eyes and hair) refers to my mother, I miss her very much and had to put her in this song.
When I first wrote this, I couldn't practice it. I couldn't get through the whole thing without getting choked up thinking about Mom, my fantastic family, how close we all are.. and how finite this life is.
I know it's not perfect, but then, neither are we.
