Story behind the song
This song was written about 4 days in at a new job, where I had moved location and was living on-site. I loved the job a lot, and it was instrumental in putting me back on track of where I want to go in life. Full of metaphors, of course!
Lyrics
I spent four long days in a place far away Didn't know the town or the sounds or my way around Turned into a bird and fell head-first into the fray This is all new to me and escaping my scrutiny Hey, I think I'll make my home right here So bye-bye, shell! Bye-bye, cocoon! So long, farewell! Tomorrow brought me something new Time feels loose it feels far out of sight Grey to blue and wide green views sure do soothe I'm having lots of fun playing with Magic and Dynamite I'm working on my flaws, working hard to change them all that's true The star helped me find my way So bye-bye, shell! Bye-bye, cocoon! So long farewell! Tomorrow brought me something new!
