Story behind the song
Two hobos suffer intense heckling over blues songs. One, Apple Jack, publishes a community challenge to them for a public debate. After not showing for the showdown the town bullies learn Apple Jack first name, Robert, and begin a slander campaign getting everyone they know to pretend to know him. None do. It's very clever, very strange, and probably illegal.
