Song 4 of The Cycle of Life
Artist picture
We are a group of people who enjoy songwriting and then recording the songs. We do it for fun.
The Overtone Gang is a group of people who enjoy songwriting and then recording the songs. The structure of the gang is flexible and people may participate on one CD and not on another. It's their choice. Each person is allowed to pursue their own projects and come back to join the gang. Egos get in the way of music so we try hard to eliminate the reasons for it. 7 different people have been involved in the first three CDs. The Cycle of Life CD included a lot more people (16 in total). Our CD "Relations" had only four people. On our latest CD, Earth, there were three of us, Melanie Broussard, Buddy Trotter and Danny Liggett. The gang has written and recorded songs for 8 CDs. These were recorded by ourselves (no record deal). We duplicate our own CDs, design and print out the booklet and put the jewel case together. We do it for fun.

Story behind the song
As elementary school draws to an end, his parents worry about Bo entering high school. High School can be difficult time for any one. Not all high school experiences are good. Through elementary and junior high school, Bo grows quickly and reaches what is normal height for his age, if not a little taller. As with most kids his age, he looks forward to "High School,” seeing this as an opportunity for a different experience and a chance to start new kind of life. Because he is taller, he is accepted by the other kids and is soon is involved numerous activities at school. In High School, Bo starts to change from a boy to a man. The young ladies become an interest, and surprisingly he finds that some are interested in him as well. Bo's high school experience becomes a pleasant event, one he hopes will not flash by in the blink of an eye. But as with all things that are enjoyable, time goes by quickly, and Bo finds himself at the end of this phase of his life.
