Story behind the song
Picture an individual during an evening episode of late night cruising and while stopped at a big city downtown street light looks over passed the passenger side window and recognizes an individual. The woman is looking for customers which is obvious to this driver. After a closer look the driver notices that woman is an old familiar special friend from long ago, long before what she is today. The song theme develops from personal thoughts within this gentlemen, instantly reviewing within his own insecurities, his own failures and underachieved goals. He rolls the window down offering friendly support to this old friend which is ignored by her evidenced by the quick turn around she does as if she never saw the man and abruptly heads in the other direction not to be pursued. That little voice of guidance and personal encouragement chimes in and becomes the reason to continue within this driver. That resolve becomes that motivation for him to move on down the road to self satisfaction in new hopeful changes in life directions to come. It is not too late for anything if you really, really want it.
