I am a musician and songwriter (primarily guitar and mandolin, but with amateur forays into banjo, fiddle, concertina, percussion and keyboard), jammer and jam host, recording engineer, producer, studio mole and occasional performer. When I perform solo, I'm hank49. When friends accompany me, we're hank49 and Loose Canon. Loose Canon is an ever shifting assembly of fellow musicians including Tom Edwards, Mitch Prevatte, Brian Chaney, Kevin Chaney, Lena and Jason Redding, Bronson Shanahan, Robert Darlington, Dave Eske, Johnny Decker, John O'hara, John Seay and more.

Lyrics
STRINGS ATTACHED A VERSE 1: Call now, this ain’t gonna last We’ll give you two if you call real fast If you don’t like it you can send it back All you gotta do is gimme the cash Uh huh. It’s not as easy as that Uh huh. Now don’t you buy that crap A VERSE 2: Don’t miss it, ‘cause you’re gonna regret That knock of opportunity that you didn’t get Listen close and you hear it again In the email from the Nigerian Uh huh. It’s not as easy as that Uh huh. Put on your thinking cap B VERSE 1: But a guitar man he’s only got two hands But they give you his all He reaches way inside where the feelings hide And throws ‘em on the wall If you listen twice, it can get real nice You might fancy that But it’s plain to see the man has got some strings attached. BRIDGE: Brokenhearted Soon to be parted A fool and his honey; same ol’ song She’s too good to be true He’s too blind to see through The lies she told him all along INSTRUMENTAL A VERSE 4 A VERSE 3: Dali Lama, a corporate thief Doctor, lawyer, Indian chief I’m anything I ever wanted to be A wooden puppet sittin’ on my knee Uh huh. You just pull on his strings Uh huh. He’ll say anything. B VERSE 2: ‘Cause a guitar man he’s only got two hands And a hard shell case Of old time blues, tears and booze And a desperate need to escape Into a world of song, where he belongs You might fancy that. But it’s plain to see the man has got some strings… He ain’t happy unless he’s frettin’ on the thing Just like me, the man has got some strings attached.
