The first Christian Rock Song I ever attempted from back in 1976-ish. Had fun revisiting the beastie. The chorus was somewhat plagarised from a 'Youth Praise' songbook ... and the verses... oh well. Enjoy.

Introducing the greatest talent ever to emerge from the orange bedroom at my parents house. I play guitar like.... well, like a guy playing guitar. I tickle ivories. I twiddle on the computer. I sometimes enjoy beans on toast for breakfast. And in the cracks between the eating, sleeping, laughing, crying, working, breathing experience that is my life there sometimes slips out songs like these.

Story behind the song
This was actually a very significant song in my personal lifeline as it was my first attempt to put a new found christian faith into words back in the mid-70's. I tried to persuade my secular band to play it, but (surprise surprise) the lyrical content didn't go down to well with those who didn't share my youthful evangelical fervor. Looking back I can hardly blame them... LOL... especially when my lifestyle didn't actually live up to my profession of faith. But that's another story! The experience however did lead me to pursue Christian music and eventually a call to a full time preaching and pastoral ministry. So... like I say... for me this was a significant little ditty.
Lyrics
Crazy Mixed Up People I was once a man who said Jesus Christ is dead, For many years I held that notion in my head, But now I say He lives, though He died upon a tree, No longer do I let the devil have my sympathy. Crazy Mixed Up people In a Crazy Mixed Up land Trying to make sense out of our lives Yet how can we be so blind? I was one of those who said Jesus was not for them, I preferred more worldly things and was out for what I could get. My money was my idol, my job, my home my god, I never seemed to realize that everything has a cost... Crazy Mixed Up people In a Crazy Mixed Up land Trying to make sense out of our lives Yet how can we be so blind? I was once a man who said when you die you rot, I really couldn't care if there was life after death or not, I had no wish to save myself from eternal fire. Now what I say is consider this... Jesus was not a liar. Crazy Mixed Up people In a Crazy Mixed Up land Trying to make sense out of our lives Yet how can we be so blind?
