Story behind the song
Here's a song I wrote and recorded 19/08/11 (from scratch) with the help of Propellerhead's Record (and Goldwave for the final mp3) and a newly acquired Saffire 6 USB midi interface by Focusrite. Drums by Rod Morgenstein through use of Sonic Reality Drummer Tracks Drums Produced by Ken Scott through use of Sonic Reality Drummer Tracks After a pretty intensive few days, this is how the track sounds after Day 3 (21/08/11). The major difference is the middle section, which starts "Search Your Heart". I also used Record's Block feature to compile this version. The idea is that you allocate all your clips and call them verse, chorus, bridge and so on, and can then just pick the relevant chunk of data and draw it in for however long you want. I was going to add some cellos or a sampled Mellotron, but I haven't. The mix is a lot brighter than my first version, no maximising required this time in Goldwave. I think there's a couple of vocal parts in the first version that didn't make it across. It's now 3 mins 44 seconds. PS on February 22nd 2012 I remastered the song with T-Racks3
