Soloist. Songwriter/singer. ASCAP member. A NICE WITNESS FOR CHRIST There is an extensive interview of me done by Scott Crawford, at . Do not let the site name alarm you. It is an "adult-themed music and entertainment" site. It is not a porn site, and you will not get tagged for spam if you go there. Scott is a journalist of integrity, who asked pertinent and penetrating questions, then printed my answers verbatim. Both God and His son received much attention in the interview. REVIEWS: "Fancy keyboard playing is the backdrop for this positive and upbeat collection. Hackley's vocals are reminiscent of Burl Ives." Review by Brent Castillo, The Wichita Eagle, March 5, 2005. "world's wimpiest Christian rocker". Brother Russell Podcast; : INFLUENCES (a very lengthy list, ending with...) "and of course, Richard Hackley." "Yet the songs on the Worst of the Worst can be compelling in their awfulness. Songs like Richard Hackley's rabble-rousing, hackles-raising spiritual God's Backhand ("We're not talking about tennis or Ping-Pong!") "; "Richard Hackley... HUGE musical influence. And a real bad mofo live.";

Story behind the song
A musical representation of Luke 18:1-5 ... the parable Jesus taught about continuing in prayer, and not giving up. (scripture is pasted at the end of the lyrics.)
Lyrics
(hook 1) UNSTOPPABLE FORCE, MEET UNMOVEABLE OBJECT (v.1 the widow) There was a widow, who had an enemy. But she was a fighter, determined to be free. (hook 2) UNSTOPPABLE FORCE... (v.2 the judge) There was a judge, who had no God. And no compassion. His heart was hard. (hook 3) ...AN UNMOVEABLE OBJECT (v.3 widow won't give up) The judge kept refusing to hear her plea. So she kept returning persistently. (hook 4) UNSTOPPABLE FORCE, MEET UNMOVEABLE OBJECT (v.4 judge wearies) He tires of the widow. To him she's a pest. For strictly selfish reasons, he grants her request. (INSTRUMENTAL) (v.5 judge does not = LORD) The judge and the LORD are worlds apart. Comparison is not why the story is there. The message is not to teach about God, But to teach about persistent prayer. (hook 5) AN UNSTOPPABLE FORCE THAT MOVES UNMOVEABLE OBJECTS. (v.6 extra bonus, per Romans 5:3-5) When you get a taste of successful prayer, And learn to trust in persistence, You'll start to love being patient, As much as you love the deliverance. Persistent prayer (x2) (hook 6) UNSTOPPABLE FORCE THAT MOVES UNMOVEABLE OBJECTS ------------------------------------------------- Luke 18:1-5 1 And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint; 2 Saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man: 3 And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary. 4 And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man; 5 Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me. Romans 5:3-5a 3 And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; 4 And patience, experience; and experience, hope: 5 And hope maketh not ashamed;
