light hearted lyrical sarcasm and original music inspired by a lifetime of accompanying a boatload of excellent musicians.
With the exception of Mango Chutneyed, everything posted here results from home recording in which alll the tunes posted are original compositions of mine, with performances on the various tracks also by me.

Story behind the song
Probably inspired by Jethro Tull, the alternating 4/4, 5/4 measures on the verse were in my head a very long time before the lyric.
Lyrics
First I want a short climb, then I'll find some down time I can dig a neat rhyme. Never cared for key lime. I don't need those white lies. I still crave some strong ties. I draw strength from kind eyes. I can use more love sighs. Ch: The kettle's a cookin', the soup needs a stir The days rush on by us, they're gone in a blur Though he fears the sweeper, Fido is a keeper. His loyalty gets deeper. He's a late sleeper. When they gonna bring it? How long can they sling it? Wonder if I'll sing it. Maybe I can swing it. The kettle's a cookin', the soup needs a stir The years rush on by us, they're gone in a blur I can dig a neat rhyme. Never cared for key lime. And I want a short climb. Then I'll need some down time.
