Lyrics
We walk out into the bleak world, grasping each others hands as if looking for an inch of warmth. The cold air bites at my skin, goosebumps I think. I see you shudder and whisper something under your breath, but I don't care. The winter sky displays a dead backdrop, the birds stay in the trees. Fallen leaves stand side-by-side to keep each other company. I look down the street, seeing every detail of the houses. I get scared and turn down another road, a dense fog coats the path ahead. I let go of your hand and run ahead. You call out for me, but I don't notice. I run until the winter sun sets, I stop suddenly. I turn around and look back; I can't find you. A wave of loneliness washes over me, a sense of comfort quickly follows. I shrug and continue to walk forward. I look ahead, the houses out of focus, and I smile. Ignorance has brought me peace.
