I've been a all round guitarist, singer songwriter for over 35 years now. In September of 2000, I was disabled in a near fatal automobile accident. I lost the ability to use my left hand. I could no longer play, sing, write or walk. After 7 year the use of my left hand suddenly came back. I can also walk a bit with help. I am just starting to play again, but there won't be anything new for awhile. I am going to clean up some old recordings I made from the 70s to the 90s. I will submit them here as a history of my life in music. I hope you like them. Thank you all so much. I love you all, Wayne, (Blueslogic) (2003)

Story behind the song
I wrote this six months after my wife and I moved into our first house. She was just diagnosed with cancer and we just wanted to run away and hide. It used to be her favorite song. She always called it "The Texas Song". She wished we could just move to Texas and all the bad stuff would go away. The lyrics also tell the story about how moving to a new place, nobody knows you and people aren't too friendly yet. We felt pretty much alone.
Lyrics
I'll Get Us Through The winter's comin, and there ain't no money for heat Our cars are runnin, but the mufflers drag in the street Let's go south where it's warm I want to feel like I belong I want to find us a home, once and for all This town we live in is nice, but we can't make friends We started over before, we can do it again And I know that there's time Do what we want to do And I promise you this, I'll get us through (Guitar break) And I know that there's time Do what we want to do And I promise you this, I'll get us through The river's flowing and we know where it will end There's nothing holding us here so let's not pretend Late at night when you sleep I hear the train whistle blow I watch the candles burn down, and I know we must go And I know that there's time Do what we want to do And I promise you this, I'll get us through Wayne Whiteside, Copyright November 2, 1992
