Story behind the song
Walton Racket is an instrumental originally composed on my Ensoniq ESQ1 back in 1987. Despite accidentally dropping an unattached door on my Ensoniq (!) and breaking one of the keys, I got it repaired and rather lovingly and somewhat painstakingly transcribed this into Propellerhead Reason in 2010 by replaying one track, one sequence at a time. I used this as a track to get to know my way around Reason and its rack mounted instruments and effects. One of the benefits of Computer Music software is that you can see mistakes on the screen a lot more easily, so I was able to edit some out from the original midi file and clean it up. It was originally inspired by Miami Vice all those years ago when I lived in Walton (Walton Racket, get it?)
