battling during breakfast and lunchtime in High School, the MC have rapping with local talented cat around the DC Metro Area cat such as who now mostly doing Mixtapes and Radio Battles. The UPTiMIST isn't new to the Hip-Hop movement before the MIC he used to B-Boy in the late 80's and the early 90s break dance battle for money with friends at school and around the neighborhood before he even reached puberty.

I'VE ALWAYS BEEN DOWN FOR RAPS SINCE THE 9TH GRADE I WENT TO THE OLD BLAIR HIGH SCHOOL WHERE I GOT EXPOSE TO THE FREESTYLE PLAYGROUND AT LUNCH TIME. I STARTED TO PRACTICE EVERYTIME A SONG CAME ON THE RADIO. I USED TO RECORD AND LOOP BEATS OF OFF RADIO STATION FREESTYLE BATTLE SESSIONS TO STRETCH IT OUT ON A CASSETTE TAPE TO MAKE INSTRUMENTALS TO SPIT VERSES ON AND PASS IT AROUND THE SCHOOL IN THE MORNING TO MY BOYS SO I CAN HEAR THEM MAKING COMMENTS BECAUSE I WANTED TO LEARN WHAT PEOPLE WANTED TO HEAR. I LEARNED THE BASICS FROM SCRATCH SO I KNOW MY HIP-HOP BECAUSE I DID MY STUDIES. MY MAN AJ AKA "YOUNG SALON" GOT PUT IN THE SHIT BY JUST SEEING THE PASSIONS AND DREAMS I HAD FOR THE ART AT THE TIME. WE STARTED RECORDING TAPES AND FREESTYLE AROUND THE CLICK TABLE IN THE MORNING WHERE EVERYBODY WHO WAS NICE CAME THROUGH AND DROP A LINE. ACCORDING TO THE PROPS I WAS GETTING I WAS MORE THAN JSUT OK SO I KEPT ON WRITING AND 2002 I PAID $60 FOR STUDIO TIME FROM AN ASSOCIATE ALL ON MY OWN AND PRODUCE A 6 BASIC TRACKS SOLO DEMO IN A WEEK. I MADE A PARTY TRACK IN THERE SOMEHOW PEOPLE LOVED IT AND EAGER ME ON. SOME OF THEM TRACKS ARE STILL LISTED ON SOUNDLCICK AS OF TODAY SUCH TRACK AS "PIMP SEX"Have you performed in front of an audience?UPTiMIST have made appearances In some local Cable TV shows in DC.I have performed at few college parties in the Baltimore area.

My musical influences came from my childhood and struggles I have been places around the world my mind see things in different ways. People that i grow-up made love friends and enemies with plays a part in the styles or music that I express.
