We are the Unified Army of UnderAchievaz -aka- UNIFIED ARMY -AKA- THA UA, representin' Washington, DC metro area. We hope to make a major break thru in the recording industry with our hard hitting tracks, cutthroat lyrics. DC Hip-Hop continues to be slept on, but we are on the rise. It's time to wake up!
Band/artist history
With seasoned aggressive delivery, true hip-hop production from THATZ KRAZY! Productionz, and dedicated management (Silver 2 Platinum Management), the Unified Army will emerge from the streets of Washington, D.C. & P.G. County, MD as the premier group in the Mid-Atlantic region. They burn stages from the dirty south to the legendary rock hot spots like CBGBs, in NYC. The superb trio (Hoo'KraZe, Phantom Black & Tha Victorious 1) of stimulating lyricists has performed as the opening act for the strongest hip-hop influences in the nation. DJ Kool (Detroit, MI), Jadakiss at 2K9 (DC), Ghostface Killa at The Ritz (DC), BootCamp Clik at The 930 Club (DC) Lyricist Lounge Tour, Big Daddy Kane and Killah Priest at The 930 Club (DC) Lyricist Lounge Tour, & DJ Flexx at Ashantiland, MD. In addition to opening for the hot artists, the UnderAchievaz have hit the studio to produce raw cuts like Hott featuring DJ Kool and The Way featuring Jamal Alicea (Bodyguard soundtrack). In 1996, the group released an underground album with songs from DJ 2wenty and DJ Kool called Basement Funk & Ya Betta Believe featuring reggae recording artists, Born Jamericans. Along with the state of hip-hop, the UA has evolved into a well oiled machine. Whether you want radio or mix-tape selections pick your poison, the the Unified Army has the answer for your hip-hop problems. Be on the look out for the "Under Surveillance - STREET EDITION" on tha streetz NOW & coming soon, the hip hop/ rock version with ILLUMINATI (www.illuminatiband.com)
Have you performed in front of an audience?
Yes we do live performances. We've done performances in Detroit, North Carolina, Atlanta, Baltimore and of course Washington, DC. We love doing live performances. It's nothing like standing in front of hundreds of people rocking the mic. Then to have people come up to you like "Y'all are tight, where can I buy your CD?" Every performace is special, but I think one of the most memorable ones thus far was when we opened for the Boot Camp Clik on the Lyricists Lounge Tour. The place was packed, we were amped and put on one of our best performances. We're underground right now, but that night, we felt like we were on top of the world. You can check us out now rockin with "ILLUMINATI" the DC based rock group with a "KILLA" sound!
Your musical influences
Our musical influences range from 70's funk, R&B, and rock to the old school hip-hop of the 80's and early 90's, all of today's music whether we feelin 'em or not.
What equipment do you use?
MPC 1000-4000, PROTOOLS, REASON, ACID PRO, MOTIF, OR ANYTHING ELSE I GOT IN FRONT OF ME. A LUNCH TABLE OR WHATEVA! BRING ON AND LET'Z GET IT ON!
Anything else?
We have recently teamed up with the DC based super rock band, ILLUMINATI (www.illuminatiband.com). The live show we have is sick as hell and we are currently recording a headbangin CD.
